Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Fernando Navas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ksawery Koltun! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Navas wants to clinch but Koltun slips to the side enabling Koltun to counter with a crisp jab. A jab from Koltun misses. A big right from Koltun misses. Koltun throws out a loose jab but Navas uses good head movement to avoid it. Navas looks to land a right hand but Koltun moved out of range. Decent striking displayed by Koltun there. Koltun thows a left - swing and a miss! Koltun looks to land a left hand but Navas moved out of range nicely. Koltun circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Navas looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Navas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Navas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Navas looks to land a body kick but Koltun moved away. Navas walks into a straight right hand from Koltun. Navas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Navas is looking to control Koltun's arms but Koltun gets an underhook and turns him. Now Navas has his back to the cage. I was talking to Navas's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A quick uppercut on the inside from Koltun. Navas tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Navas looking to slow down the pace here. Koltun pushes Navas back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Navas works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Navas tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Navas moves out of range of the strikes. Navas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Nice takedown defense from Navas. No joy for Koltun on that attempt. Navas wants to clinch and Koltun counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Koltun is pressing down on Navas's thigh, looking to free his foot. Navas is holding on for now. Navas is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Navas throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Koltun takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Navas actively working from the bottom here. Navas wants to control but Koltun is keeping busy and won't allow it. Navas makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Navas. Koltun in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Koltun is working Navas over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Koltun drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Koltun jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Koltun cracks Navas with a solid left hand. Koltun wants to pass the guard but Navas is keeping the position. Koltun is fighting to break Navas's control of his arms but Navas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Navas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Koltun drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Koltun jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Navas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Navas controls Koltun momentarily but Koltun frees himself. Koltun avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Koltun slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Navas keeping moving, preventing Koltun from controlling successfully. Koltun chips away with some ground and pound. Koltun is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Navas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Koltun defends well. Navas lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Koltun! Koltun tries to get back to half guard but can't. Navas working Koltun over with strikes here. Navas prevents Koltun from getting the reversal. Koltun is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Koltun wants to hold on but Navas pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Navas looking to control but Koltun is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Navas has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Koltun's face.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Navas landing strikes from the mount and Koltun is in trouble! Navas landing strikes from the mount and Koltun is in trouble! Fernando Navas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Navas working Koltun over with strikes here. Navas lands a couple of good shots and Koltun has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Navas is landing with strikes from the back. Koltun tries to escape but Navas has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Koltun has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Navas looking for the choke from the back. Navas working for a choke but Koltun is defending well. Navas is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Navas gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Navas gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Navas apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Navas is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Koltun has just dragged him back down to the mat. Navas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koltun wants to lay and pray for a moment but Navas keeps working. Navas tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Koltun wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. You can see the frustration on Navas's face as Koltun controls the position. Navas can't do much from the bottom here. Navas is looking for a sweep. Koltun controlling the position from side mount. Koltun is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Navas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Navas parries the strikes from Koltun easily there. Koltun is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Navas to escape.

Navas tries to buck Koltun off but Koltun is having none of it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Navas sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Navas moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Navas keeping moving, preventing Koltun from controlling successfully. Koltun won't allow Navas to sweep him here. Koltun passes Navas's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ksawery Koltun has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Koltun is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Navas!

Navas bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Navas looking to pass the guard. Koltun has his foot on Navas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Navas works his way back into a safe position though. Navas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Navas keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Koltun's head. Koltun manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Navas manages to get himself to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Koltun trying to control the position from guard on top but Navas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Navas is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Fernando Navas! A very excited looking Fernando Navas rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
