Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Icarus Liege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layne Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Icarus Liege has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liege lands a two punch combo.
Liege displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shepherd.
Icarus Liege seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liege shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Shepherd eats them both and turns towards Liege to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Shepherd throws a low kick but it's checked well by Liege.
Liege keeps the fight on the outside.
A decent looking cross lands there for Liege.
Shepherd tries to clinch there but Liege circles away.
Shepherd has closed the distance and engaged Liege in a clinch.
Shepherd unloads a knee to the mid-section. Liege lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Liege is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've been informed that Shepherd has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Liege uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shepherd has time to react.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Shepherd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Liege as he jumps to the side.
Shepherd walks into a left hand.

Shepherd walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Liege stalks Shepherd and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Shepherd's face. Shepherd staggers backwards, shaken.
Shepherd takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Liege changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Shepherd tries to clinch but Liege is having none of it.
Shepherd tries to close the distance and clinch but Liege swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shepherd dives in and grabs Liege's left leg, looking for a takedown. Liege pushes down on Shepherd's head and hops out.

That was a close second round but I would say that Icarus Liege will probably get the nod.

Liege throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Shepherd tries to clinch but Liege is having none of it.

Shepherd fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Liege has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Shepherd doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A lazy left from Liege finds it's target.

Liege clobbers Shepherd with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Shepherd has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Shepherd there as he acknowledges the shot.
Shepherd misses with a head kick.
Shepherd is looking to clinch but Liege is avoiding it.
Liege's corner calls for a 1-2. Liege obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Icarus Liege is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Horrible takedown by Shepherd or perhaps it was just good defense by Liege which made him look bad.

Shepherd has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
