Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
38 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Scheisse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anderson Da Silva! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scheisse fails with an attempt to clinch.
Scheisse tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Scheisse goes for a double leg but Da Silva avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Da Silva continues to drive forward. Da Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Scheisse shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Scheisse has Da Silva pressed against the cage, preventing Da Silva from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A short left from Scheisse. Da Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Scheisse can't fight it off and eventually Da Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Scheisse looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Da Silva won't allow Scheisse to get back to his feet. Da Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Scheisse is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Da Silva, into his guard. Scheisse wanted to stand there but Da Silva had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scheisse stands up from Da Silva's guard - Scheisse perhaps looking for a knockout. The fight stays on the outside here - Scheisse looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Scheisse swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Da Silva. Scheisse throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Anderson Da Silva has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Scheisse wants to clinch and Da Silva counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Scheisse thinking. Scheisse clinches with his opponent.
Scheisse throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Da Silva blocks it with crossed arms. Scheisse stalling in the clinch.
Da Silva has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Scheisse after a bit of a struggle. Da Silva lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Da Silva tries to pass the half guard into mount. Scheisse knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scheisse looks like he's trying to stand up.
Da Silva is working for a kimura but Scheisse is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Scheisse kicks off Da Silva and gets to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scheisse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Da Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center. Scheisse tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Da Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Scheisse lands with an overhand left. Scheisse jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Scheisse, as that shot connected.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scheisse jabs Da Silva to the body, keeping him at a distance. Michael Scheisse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scheisse moves into range and clinches up with Da Silva. Scheisse utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Scheisse takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Scheisse lands a knee to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Scheisse dominated that round. The cut man is working on Anderson Da Silva's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Scheisse tries to clinch but Da Silva moves out of range. Michael Scheisse is winning the standup battle so far. Scheisse gets a clinch. Scheisse stalling in the clinch.
Da Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Scheisse is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Scheisse misses with a knee strike.
Scheisse lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Nice elbow from Scheisse. Da Silva is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Scheisse is defending well. Da Silva wants a takedown but no success here.
Michael Scheisse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anderson Da Silva. Da Silva tries for a takedown but Scheisse manages to get underhooks.

Da Silva is looking for a takedown. Da Silva is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Scheisse is defending well. Da Silva swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Da Silva jumps guard but Scheisse stands there with Da Silva around his waist. Da Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Da Silva is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scheisse with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Scheisse with a knee to the head.
Scheisse connects with a nasty looking knee right to Da Silva's face.
Da Silva is looking to take this one to the mat. Scheisse with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Scheisse tries to land a knee to the head but Da Silva blocks with his arms.
Scheisse lands an elbow inside.
That has opened up Anderson Da Silva's cut even more. Da Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Scheisse gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scheisse stops a takedown attempt from Da Silva.
Scheisse misses with a knee to the head. Scheisse lands a knee to the head.
Still in the clinch, Scheisse scores with a nice short uppercut. Da Silva is working for takedown but Scheisse is calmly controlling the position for now. Da Silva takes a knee right on the jaw!
Da Silva is rocked! Da Silva has Scheisse pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Scheisse manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Scheisse working the clinch nicely. Da Silva is working for position but Scheisse cracks him with a big knee to the head! Da Silva crumples up against the cage and Scheisse lands two more shots before the ref can save Da Silva! This one is all over!
