Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Gonawyn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonawyn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Crush 'em - Megadeth. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, King Gonawyn!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nguyen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gonawyn manages to avoid it.
Gonawyn checks a low kick from Nguyen.
Nguyen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gonawyn.
Nguyen takes a swing at Gonawyn's ribcage but misses.
Nguyen throws a body punch but Gonawyn moves out of range.
Gonawyn ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nguyen throws a leg kick
and Gonawyn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Nguyen tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Nguyen scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Nguyen misses with a knee to the head.
Gonawyn is working for takedown but Nguyen is calmly controlling the position for now.
Nguyen is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Nguyen lands an elbow inside.
Nguyen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Gonawyn.
Michael Nguyen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Gonawyn.
Gonawyn on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nguyen works on Gonawyn's body with a couple of short punches.
Gonawyn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nguyen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Gonawyn has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Nguyen is trying to keep an underhook but Gonawyn manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Nguyen regains full guard. Nicely done.
Nguyen pulls Gonawyn in close to his closed guard and prevents Gonawyn from doing any damage or advancing position.
Nguyen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gonawyn's guard.

Nguyen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Nguyen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gonawyn's head.
Gonawyn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gonawyn is looking to improve his position.
Nguyen trying to mount his opponent but Gonawyn defends it.
Nguyen throwing shots but Gonawyn is blocking nicely.
Gonawyn is in trouble now - Nguyen has advanced to mount!

Nguyen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gonawyn can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nguyen throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gonawyn because Nguyen loaded up on that one.
Gonawyn wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Nguyen.
Nguyen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gonawyn is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Nguyen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Gonawyn is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gonawyn tries to hold on but Nguyen postures up.
Poor strikes thrown by Nguyen there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nguyen throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Gonawyn tries to hold on but Nguyen pushes him away.
Nguyen working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Nguyen unloads with some shots from mount but Gonawyn bucks and avoids them well.
Gonawyn holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Nguyen tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Nguyen cracks Gonawyn with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gonawyn is still in real trouble! Can Nguyen finish him?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nguyen sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Gonawyn seems to have recovered his senses.
Nguyen lands a big shot there that rocks Gonawyn but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Nguyen dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nguyen punishes Gonawyn's body with a nice straight punch.
Gonawyn slips under a jab from Nguyen.
Gonawyn's coach down at Extreme MMA (4 Elites $250/week) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gonawyn's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Nguyen connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Gonawyn to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Nguyen!
