Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Burt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Galneryus - Everlasting. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Burt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tim Hunter!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Hunter darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Burt shoots for a double leg takedown but Hunter sprawls well. He's pushed Burt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hunter throws a series of punches but Burt avoids them all with ease.
Burt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Burt throws a right and a left that Hunter avoids nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hunter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hunter fails to land the takedown.
Hunter wants to clinch.
Burt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hunter looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Burt. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burt swats away the attempt to clinch by Hunter.

Hunter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Burt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Hunter avoids the head kick by Burt.
Burt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hunter pinned against the cage. Hunter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hunter wants to clinch up but Burt keeps it at a distance.
Burt blocks a jab.
Hunter is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hunter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hunter wants it to stay on the feet.

Burt throws a head kick that misses.
Burt gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hunter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Burt but Burt pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Burt doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hunter moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

and Burt counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Burt.
Hunter stalls.
Hunter missing with knees to the body.
Hunter misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Burt fails to pull the fight into his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hunter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burt takes one to the chin there.

Hunter moves into the clinch.
Hunter wants to stall.

Burt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hunter gets a takedown into half guard.
Hunter keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Burt is trying to stand up here but Hunter is controlling him well.

Burt regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hunter controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hunter looking to pass the guard.
Hunter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tim Hunter was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Hunter slaps away a takedown attempt from Burt, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hunter stalks Burt and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Burt's face. Burt staggers backwards, shaken.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Hunter dominated that round.
That's time! Burt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Burt tries to keep at a distance but Hunter has taken the fight into the clinch.
Burt misses with a punch to the body.
Hunter is working for takedown but Burt is calmly controlling the position for now.
Hunter is trying to drag Burt to the mat but Burt just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hunter has Burt pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Burt manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Jose Burt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Hunter.

Hunter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tim Hunter wasn't active enough on the ground.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Burt swats away the attempt to clinch by Hunter.

Hunter wants to clinch.
Burt shoots in looking for a takedown but Hunter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Burt's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hunter avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jose Burt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Burt tries to clinch up but Hunter circles away and keeps his distance.
Hunter misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hunter fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Hunter counters with a nice low kick that buckles Burt's knee momentarily.
Hunter is looking to chop away at Burt's legs.

Burt tries to clinch there but Hunter circles away.
Burt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunter as he jumps to the side.

and Hunter counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Burt!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hunter moves into full mount!
Hunter looking to control and managing it successfully.
Let's hope that Hunter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hunter throws some wild stikes that Burt manages to avoid easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tim Hunter was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Hunter digs a good body shot into Burt's ribs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hunter tries to close the distance and clinch but Burt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Burt fails to land the takedown.
Hunter throws a looping overhand right but Burt ducks down to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Hunter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Burt avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Hunter wants to clinch.
Burt shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Burt tries to clinch up.
Hunter tries to close the distance and clinch but Burt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hunter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Burt.

Hunter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hunter is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Burt will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Hunter throws a jab but it's blocked by Burt.

Hunter has picked Burt up - he's going for a ride! Hunter dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Burt is not content to let Hunter control the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Hunter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
