The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Calloway or perhaps it was just good defense by Lanes which made him look bad. Lanes moves into the clinch successfully.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Calloway wants to stand but Lanes has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Calloway drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Calloway jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Calloway wants to control from the top but Lanes keeps moving. Lanes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Calloway defends it easily. Lanes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
