0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Damian Scherbakov! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scherbakov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Serrano looking to score a takedown here. Scherbakov is defending well but Serrano drives through and ends up in Scherbakov's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Scherbakov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Scherbakov keeps trying to improve his position. Scherbakov is still trying to improve position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Serrano accidentally thumps the mat. Let's hope that Scherbakov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Serrano is trying desperately to improve position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scherbakov cracks Serrano with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Serrano tries to buck Scherbakov off but Scherbakov is having none of it. Scherbakov controlling from side mount. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Scherbakov tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Serrano is trying to maintain the position but Scherbakov is very close to passing his half guard. Damian Scherbakov has got the better of the ground game so far. Scherbakov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Serrano slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Serrano preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Scherbakov sitting in guard here, content to control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scherbakov won't allow Serrano to sweep him here. Scherbakov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scherbakov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Scherbakov slips nicely into half guard.
