Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Conan Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Shouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conan Balboa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse ! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa swats away the attempt to clinch by Shouse . Balboa fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Balboa pivots, looking for a leg kick but Shouse is out of range and Balboa settles back down. Shouse throws a body punch but Balboa moves out of range. Balboa throws a front kick aimed at Shouse 's knee but Shouse avoids it well. Balboa wants to slow Shouse down by chopping away at his legs. Balboa scores with a leg kick.
Balboa tries for a takedown but Shouse sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Shouse feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Shouse scoring with some ground and pound. Shouse stands up from guard. Let's bang! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Balboa connects with an inside leg kick. Shouse misses with a body kick. Balboa connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Shouse feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Balboa keeping full guard, as Shouse tries to pass. Shouse 's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shouse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Balboa swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shouse stands up from guard. Let's bang! Shouse tries to close the distance and clinch but Balboa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Shouse shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shouse showed some decent athleticism there. Balboa looks like he's trying to stand up.
Well, if Shouse is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Balboa wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shouse slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joshua Shouse . Shouse drives through with a takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shouse is stalling in the full guard. Shouse gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A good leg kick by Balboa. Balboa lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Balboa throws a low kick but it's checked well by Shouse . Balboa scoring well with a low kick there.
Balboa tries a low kick but Shouse avoids it. Shouse has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Balboa. Balboa connects with a solid leg kick. Shouse does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Shouse takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Balboa displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Balboa thumps Shouse with a low kick. Shouse tries to score with a low kick but Balboa moves his leg out of the way. Shouse shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balboa throws a leg kick that misses. Shouse tries to close the distance and clinch up but Balboa swats him away and circles back towards the center. Balboa stuffs the takedown. Shouse checks the leg kick nicely there.
Shouse closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Balboa to the mat! Balboa manages to get full guard. Balboa is wriggling around but Shouse manages to pass to half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shouse connects with a nice short shot to Balboa's temple. Shouse seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Shouse tries to pass the half guard into mount. Balboa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joshua Shouse dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Balboa shoots in and drives through. Shouse sprawls well. Balboa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shouse fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Balboa manages to avoid it. Balboa misses with a low kick. Balboa will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Balboa feints and then cracks Shouse 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Shouse down. Shouse 's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Shouse tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Shouse shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Shouse . He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Shouse controlling the pace. Shouse stands up from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shouse fails with a takedown attempt. Balboa buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Balboa tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Nice cross by Balboa.
Shouse is rocked! A clash of legs there as Shouse blocks the low kick. Conan Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Balboa connects with an inside leg kick. Balboa throws out a leg kick but Shouse moves out of range and Balboa only half commits. Balboa throws a low kick but Shouse moves out of range easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Shouse . Conan Balboa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Shouse . Shouse is breathing heavily. Balboa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shouse pinned against the cage. Shouse gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Shouse tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Balboa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shouse drives through with a takedown into Balboa's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Balboa wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Shouse manages to pass to side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shouse is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Balboa is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joshua Shouse !
