The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azhiev gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
li trying to control the position from guard on top but Azhiev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Azhiev looking for a guillotine here but li defends easily.
li trying to control but Azhiev is working from the bottom.
li wanted to stand there but Azhiev had control of the position.

li is looking to stand up but Azhiev won't let him.
We're going to have a standup here because Chang li wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
li bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Azhiev tries to improve position but can't.
li trying to control the position but Azhiev is working away.
li is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Azhiev is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Azhiev tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but li wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Azhiev parries the strikes from li easily there. li is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Azhiev to escape.
Azhiev manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Azhiev is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but li pulls his head out easily.
Azhiev is trying to maintain the position but li is very close to passing his half guard.
Azhiev is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! li is tapping! Great win for Azhiev!

Anzor Azhiev opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
