Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Herman Avery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blake Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blake Morton told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Herman Avery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Blake Morton! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Avery pulls guard successfully.
Avery trying to keep a closed guard but Morton is proving a slippery customer.
Morton is working Avery over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Avery wants to stand but Morton is controlling the position. Morton wants to stand but Avery has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Avery looking to control.
Avery looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Morton wants to pass the guard but Avery is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Morton keeps trying to improve his position. Morton wants to get up but he can't break Avery's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Morton wants to control from the top but Avery keeps moving. Avery wants to improve his position but instead Morton has moved into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Morton is looking to take a break and control but Avery is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Avery is looking to control Morton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Avery avoid being mounted? Avery is looking to escape. Morton keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Morton circles away from the clinch attempt and Morton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avery being controlled here, momentarily. Avery controlling the position. Avery wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Morton is now in half guard. Morton with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Morton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Blake Morton wasn't active enough on the ground. Morton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Avery's half guard. Morton is keen to just control but Avery is a slippery customer. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Morton tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Avery. Morton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A leg kick checked by Avery. Avery tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Morton manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Morton dives in and scores a takedown into Avery's guard. Morton trying to control but Avery is working from the bottom. Morton trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Morton trying to control the position from guard on top but Avery is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avery is looking for a triangle but Morton pushes his legs off easily.
Avery is trying to control the position but Morton postures up. Morton is looking to stand up but Avery won't let him. Morton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Morton trying to control but Avery is working from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Blake Morton hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Morton throws a half hearted mid kick. Morton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Avery trying to control but Morton postures up.
Avery is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Morton is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morton is keen to just control but Avery is a slippery customer. Morton throwing shots but Avery is blocking nicely.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Herman Avery wasn't doing enough on the ground. Avery moves in looking to clinch but Morton pushes him off. Morton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Avery, pushing him back against the cage. Morton is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Morton's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Both guys are working to get underhooks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morton has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Avery is trying to keep an underhook but Morton manages to get the takedown into half guard. Morton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Avery does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Avery is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Avery wants to control but Morton is keeping busy.
Morton winds up and cracks Avery with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Avery looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Morton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Avery doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Morton. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Blake Morton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Avery's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Morton decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Morton wants to control but Avery is keeping him busy. Morton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Morton controlling the action here. Blake Morton has got the better of the ground game so far. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Morton connects with a nice short shot to Avery's temple. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avery is refusing to be controlled, as Morton sits in half guard. Morton tries to stand but can't do so whilst Avery controls his leg. Morton with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Blake Morton has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Avery fails in his attempt to clinch. Blake Morton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Morton drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Avery is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Morton stops Avery from getting back to his feet.
Morton sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Avery defending well though. Morton wants to pass the guard but Avery is defending well. Morton is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Avery closes the distance looking to clinch and Morton counters by moving into the clinch. Morton has clasped his hands together around Avery's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Avery is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Morton misses with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Morton trying to control the position but Avery is working away. Morton connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Avery some visible discomfort.
Avery manages to work his way to half guard, despite Morton's best efforts. Avery looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Morton is looking to stall here but Avery recovers full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Blake Morton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Morton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
