Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jia Le Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitali Kersikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes to the cage accompanied by Die Monster Die!. Kersikov has chosen Dj Nosferatu - When Angels Cry as his entrance music. Vitali Kersikov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jia Le Li's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jia Le Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vitali Kersikov!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kersikov misses with a leg kick
and Li counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Li throws a wild body kick that Kersikov sees coming a mile off.
Jia Le Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kersikov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kersikov swings for the body but Li moves out of range.
Kersikov scores with a kick to the body.
Li is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kersikov.

Kersikov cracks Li with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Li looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Kersikov finish him?


It looks like Jia Le Li has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kersikov throws a jab but it's blocked by Li.
A clash of legs there as Li blocks the low kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Li throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kersikov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Li changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kersikov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Li working the ground and pound from side control.
Li passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Kersikov!
Kersikov manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Kersikov is trying to get back to full guard.
Li seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kersikov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Li is looking to advance position but Kersikov won't allow it.
Li sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kersikov defending well though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kersikov tries to get to full guard but Li has control of the leg.
Li thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kersikov's head.
Kersikov gets back to full guard.
Kersikov tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kersikov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Li is looking to work some ground and pound but Kersikov has wrist control.
Li works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kersikov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kersikov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Li.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kersikov is looking for a sweep. Li is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kersikov is looking to control Li's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kersikov avoid being mounted?
Li wants to pass to mount but Kersikov is defending the position.
Li is working hard here to advance position.
Kersikov is trying to get back to full guard.
Li trying to control the action but Kersikov is working from the bottom.
Li has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Li is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kersikov regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Li.
Li trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kersikov is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Kersikov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Li showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vitali Kersikov dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jia Le Li's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kersikov slaps away a takedown attempt from Li, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kersikov gets tackled into the cage by Li. Li maintains the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kersikov - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Kersikov.
Kersikov scores with a shoulder strike.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Li pushes off an throws an elbow but Kersikov leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Kersikov tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Li avoids it.
Kersikov misses with a punch on the inside.
Kersikov swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kersikov tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kersikov struggles to land a body shot inside as Li controls his hands.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Li.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Kersikov.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Li creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Li blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Li lands an elbow inside that Kersikov shrugs off.
Li struggles to land a body shot inside as Kersikov controls his hands.
Kersikov pushes Li back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Kersikov stalling in the clinch but Li improves position.
Kersikov makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.


Li is rocked!
Kersikov misses with the head strike.
Oh Li is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kersikov is pressed up against the cage. Li has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kersikov down to the mat. Kersikov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Li glances at the clock... BAM! Kersikov nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Li crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Li is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vitali Kersikov!
Vitali Kersikov seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
