Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bertt Hart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Benji OToole! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OToole shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. OToole wants to clinch up but Hart keeps it at a distance. OToole fails with an attempt to clinch.
Benji OToole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. OToole misses with a body kick. OToole feints and as Hart raises his hands in defense, OToole changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hart trying to control the position.
Hart pulls OToole in close to prevent any damage. Hart is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. OToole postures up.
Hart manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hart looking to secure an arm triangle but OToole defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hart lands a big shot there that rocks OToole but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
OToole is looking to improve his position but Hart isn't that keen on the idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hart looking to control but OToole is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hart has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of OToole's face.
OToole's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Hart looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Hart looking to control and managing it successfully. Hart is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. OToole can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
OToole is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hart lands a big elbow. OToole is still in real trouble! Can Hart finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Hart quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Hart but it's paid off an OToole is forced to tap! Nice work by Hart.
