PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Danze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Danze might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Handle ur Bizness by the Mash Out Possee. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Billy Danze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jon Snow!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snow throws a shot from downtown. Danze moves away and avoids it.
Danze connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Snow's hands.


It looks like Jon Snow has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Snow.
Danze swings widly with a right hand
and Snow counters with a nice body shot.
Danze throws a hook but Snow blocks it.
Snow lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Danze fails with the takedown
and Snow counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Danze is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Snow moves out of range of the strikes.
Snow stuffs the takedown attempt from Danze. Danze gets slowly back to his feet.
Danze throws a hook but Snow avoids it easily.
Snow uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Danze.

and Snow counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Billy Danze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Danze shoots in looking for a takedown but Snow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Danze's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Snow counters with a slapping leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Snow keeps the fight on the outside.

Snow steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Danze.

Danze feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Danze throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Snow works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Danze will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Snow wants to stand but Danze is controlling the position.
Danze throws a strike but Snow rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Snow slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Danze.
Danze wants to control but Snow is keeping busy.

Danze is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Snow tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Danze tries to get to full guard but Snow has control of the leg.

Snow gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Snow jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Danze misses with an uppercut
and Snow counters with a series of strikes. Danze will be more careful next time no doubt.
Danze is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Danze misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Danze swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Danze is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Snow's half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Snow is looking to stand up but Danze isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Danze will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Jon Snow's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Snow's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Danze connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Snow scrambles back to his feet.
Snow throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Danze sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Snow throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Snow slips a jab from Danze.
Snow shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Danze tries to clinch up but Snow circles away and keeps his distance.
Good shot there by Danze.

Nice takedown defense from Snow. No joy for Danze on that attempt.

Snow avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Some wild striking there from Snow.
Danze looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Snow is fending him off so far but Danze persists. Nope, Snow circles away and we're back to standing.
Danze lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Danze tests Snow's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Danze fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Snow on the side of the head.
Danze missing with a left hand there. Snow was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Danze swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Danze rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Snow counters with a straight right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Danze lands a really nice looking cross but Snow seems unphased.

Danze takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Jon Snow's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Snow has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Danze throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Danze's jab looks to have found its range, popping Snow under the eye.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Danze closes this distance looking for a takedown but Snow circles away.

During a confident post fight interview, Billy Danze thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
