Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Takeo Okamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orion Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Takeo Okamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orion Cook!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okamoto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Okamoto misses the body punch
and Cook counters with a two punch combo.
Okamoto lands a nice hook to Cook's body. Cook takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Cook takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Okamoto fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cook.
Okamoto lands with a thumping leg kick.
Okamoto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Okamoto comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd cheers as Okamoto lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cook doesn't seem phased though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Okamoto throws a body punch but Cook moves out of range.
An inside leg kick from Okamoto misses.

Okamoto connects with a body shot.
Okamoto uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cook.
Okamoto seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Okamoto throws a shot from downtown. Cook moves away and avoids it.
Okamoto throws a hook to the side of Cook's head but Cook sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Okamoto is looking to wear down Cook with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Cook avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Okamoto clinches with his opponent.
Cook jumps guard but Okamoto turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Cook has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Cook is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Okamoto manages to break the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Okamoto lands a damaging elbow.

Okamoto misses with an elbow strike.

Cook gets control of Okamoto's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cook will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Okamoto won't allow Cook to sweep him here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cook can't keep his opponent in guard - Okamoto advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Cook tries to get to full guard but Okamoto has control of the leg.

Cook tries to roll over but Okamoto keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Okamoto is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Okamoto landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Cook tries to get to full guard but Okamoto has control of the leg.
Cook keeps trying to improve his position.
Cook is trying to maintain the position but Okamoto is very close to passing his half guard.
Okamoto is keen to just control but Cook is a slippery customer.

Cook works his way to full guard. Good work.
Okamoto postures up.
Okamoto slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Takeo Okamoto has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Cook checks the leg kick.
Okamoto tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cook swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Takeo Okamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Okamoto throws a sloppy head kick and Cook moves out of range easily.
Okamoto throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Cook takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cook takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Orion Cook is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Okamoto throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cook's head.
Okamoto doesn't manage to clinch there - Cook circles away.
Okamoto lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Okamoto wants to clinch up but Cook keeps it at a distance.
Okamoto throws a front kick aimed at Cook's knee but Cook avoids it well.
Okamoto throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cook tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Okamoto smiles and moves away.
Cook shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A good leg kick by Okamoto.
The fight stays on the outside here - Okamoto looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cook takes one to the side of the head.

Cook on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A head kick misses from Okamoto.
Okamoto misses with an uppercut. Cook saw that one coming.
Takeo Okamoto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Okamoto looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Okamoto has managed to clinch.
Okamoto misses with the head strike.
Cook can't get the takedown.
Cook fails to pull guard.
Takeo Okamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Orion Cook.
Cook tries to pull guard but Okamoto forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Okamoto misses with an elbow over the top.
Okamoto has a couple of punches blocked by Cook.
Cook tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Okamoto smiles and moves away.
Cook goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Okamoto rushes Cook and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Okamoto just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cook's brow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Okamoto takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Cook avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cook chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Okamoto can pounce on him.
Okamoto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Okamoto throws a hook but Cook blocks it.

and Cook counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Okamoto displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cook throws out the jab.

Okamoto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cook ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Okamoto moves away.

Cook's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Okamoto misses with a looping right.
Okamoto cracks Cook with an open hand slap.
Cook ducks under a wild hook from Okamoto.
Donk. Okamoto catches Cook right on the button with a cross.

Cook scores with a hook to the body. Okamoto takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Okamoto throws a looping overhand right but Cook ducks down to avoid it.

and Cook connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Cook swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Okamoto tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cook counters with a stiff right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Takeo Okamoto showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Okamoto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
