The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hiligaynon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jenkins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Hiligaynon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jenkins gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Jenkins is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hiligaynon pulls his head out easily.
Hiligaynon prevents Jenkins from improving his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hiligaynon throws a solid leg kick but Jenkins takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Hiligaynon.

Jenkins closes the distance and clinches up with Hiligaynon, looking for a takedown. Jenkins pushes Hiligaynon against the cage but Hiligaynon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jenkins has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hiligaynon.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jenkins has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Hiligaynon. Oh but Jenkins has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Hiligaynon goes limp - he's gone! Jenkins jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
