The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monzon throws a right hand that Magalhaes ducks under and follows up with a left that Magalhaes also avoids with ease.

Monzon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Magalhaes.
Magalhaes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Magalhaes closes the distance but Monzon moves to the side
and Monzon counters with a low kick, right behind Magalhaes 's knee.
Monzon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Monzon stalks Magalhaes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Magalhaes's face. Magalhaes staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Magalhaes is looking to clinch but Monzon is avoiding it.

Monzon drops Magalhaes with a beautiful combination! Magalhaes stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Monzon is looking for the KO!

Ramon Monzon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
