PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hullu Harri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nyyrikki Takaraivo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Hullu Harri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Nyyrikki Takaraivo!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harri clinches up with Takaraivo and pushes him back against the cage.
Takaraivo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A left hand lands to the body for Harri.
Takaraivo blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Harri swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Harri jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Takaraivo walks away with a smile on his face. Harri gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Takaraivo finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Takaraivo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A combination from Harri does no damage.

Harri closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Takaraivo's guard.
Harri trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Harri passes into half guard.
Harri has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harri trying to mount his opponent but Takaraivo defends it.
Takaraivo is trying to stand up here but Harri is controlling him well.

Harri is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Harri tries to pass to full mount but Takaraivo defends it.
Harri is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Takaraivo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harri throwing strikes from guard but Takaraivo blocks nicely.

Harri trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Harri is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Harri has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Harri won't allow Takaraivo to get back to his feet.
Harri stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takaraivo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Harri thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harri wants to pass the guard but Takaraivo is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Harri pushes down on Takaraivo's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Harri is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Takaraivo sees it coming and defends easily.

Harri is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Harri wants to work for an arm triangle but Takaraivo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Harri is looking to advance position but Takaraivo won't allow it.
Takaraivo wants to get back to his feet.
Harri is pressing down on Takaraivo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Takaraivo is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harri is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Takaraivo is just riding it out for now. Harri eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Harri is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Takaraivo defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hullu Harri dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Jab, jab by Takaraivo - just one landing.

Takaraivo darts in and clinches Harri up against the cage.
Harri tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Takaraivo smiles and moves away.
Takaraivo misses with a head kick.
Harri looks to land a left hand but Takaraivo moved out of range nicely.
Harri takes a swing at Takaraivo's ribcage but misses.
Takaraivo slips a jab and a cross from Harri.
Takaraivo lands with a nice body punch.

Takaraivo drops Harri with a beautiful combination! Harri stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Takaraivo is looking for the KO!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Takaraivo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hullu Harri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Takaraivo throws the kick towards the body but Harri avoids it.
Harri throws a head kick but Takaraivo moves out of range.
Takaraivo misses with a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harri misses the shot to the body.
Takaraivo goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Takaraivo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Harri.
Harri throws a left and a right that both miss
and Takaraivo counters with a massive head kick! KABOOM! Harri is out cold! A devastating KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Nyyrikki Takaraivo!
Nyyrikki Takaraivo decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
