Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Eduardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey Finn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eduardo kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Numb. Finn is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Von Bondies - C'mon c'mon. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Eduardo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
35 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mickey Finn! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finn is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Finn fails in his attempt to clinch. Finn lands with an uppercut that bounces Eduardo off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Carlos Eduardo has been cut. Finn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Eduardo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Finn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Eduardo tries to clinch up letting Finn counter with a right hand. Finn shoots for a double leg takedown but Eduardo sprawls well. He's pushed Finn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Eduardo lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. We've been told by Eduardo's head coaches at Gym Closing Thursday 20/03/14 - The Garcia Grappl that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Eduardo tries to clinch up. Finn connects with a looping right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Eduardo misses with a body kick. Eduardo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Eduardo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Eduardo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Eduardo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Finn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finn wants to control from the top but Eduardo keeps moving. Finn is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Finn lands a couple of elbows. Finn throws a strike but Eduardo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Eduardo wants to control from the top but Finn keeps moving. Finn keeping full guard, as Eduardo tries to pass. Finn being controlled here, momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Finn is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Eduardo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Finn closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Finn lands in his opponent's guard. Finn chips away with some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eduardo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Finn's corner is telling him to maintain position. Eduardo is trying to control the position but Finn postures up. Eduardo can't keep his opponent in guard - Finn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Finn controlling the action here. Finn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Finn is looking to take a break and control but Eduardo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Finn tries to pass to full mount but Eduardo defends it. Eduardo tries to get to full guard but Finn has control of the leg. Finn is looking to take a break and control but Eduardo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Finn thows a huge punch but Eduardo dodges it nicely.

Eduardo slips under a jab. Finn feints and as Eduardo raises his hands in defense, Finn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Finn trying to control the position from guard on top but Eduardo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Eduardo managing to control the position. Eduardo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Finn keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Eduardo's head. Mickey Finn has got the better of the ground game so far. Eduardo keeping moving, preventing Finn from controlling successfully. Eduardo trying to keep a closed guard but Finn is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jab by Finn. Mickey Finn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Eduardo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Mickey Finn has been cut. Carlos Eduardo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Finn scores with a takedown into Eduardo's guard. Finn tries to free his leg and advance position but Eduardo is retaining full guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Eduardo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Finn passes Eduardo's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Finn is stalling here. Eduardo is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Finn seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Eduardo has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Finn trying to control but Eduardo flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Eduardo has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Finn's body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Finn tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Finn tries to lock up and control but Eduardo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Finn sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Finn is trying to get back to full guard. Eduardo performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Finn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Finn trying to control here.
Eduardo is trying to control the action in half guard but Finn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Finn controlling the position for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We're going to have a standup here because Carlos Eduardo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Eduardo moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Finn is looking to slow Eduardo down with leg kicks. Carlos Eduardo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Finn lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mickey Finn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Eduardo is pressed up against the cage. Finn has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Eduardo down to the mat. Eduardo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Eduardo clinches up with Finn and pushes him back against the cage. Finn looking for a takedown. Finn tries for a takedown but Eduardo manages to get underhooks.
Carlos Eduardo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mickey Finn. Eduardo lands a nice uppercut. Finn tries to score a body lock takedown but Eduardo shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Finn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Eduardo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Eduardo lands an elbow inside. Eduardo tries to work over Finn's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Finn tries to break the clinch but Eduardo is controlling the position. Finn stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finn blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Eduardo tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Finn avoids it. Finn looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Eduardo trying to land knees to the body.
Finn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Eduardo misses with a head kick.
Eduardo wants to clinch up but Finn keeps it at a distance. A momentary lapse in concentration from Eduardo enables Finn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Eduardo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Eduardo keeping moving, preventing Finn from controlling successfully. That's two minutes gone in the round. Eduardo controls Finn momentarily but Finn frees himself. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Eduardo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Finn is controlling him. Finn tries to free his leg and advance position but Eduardo is retaining full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Eduardo wants to clinch up but Finn keeps it at a distance. Finn goes for a double leg but Eduardo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Eduardo continues to drive forward. Eduardo trying to stall but Finn improves his position.

Carlos Eduardo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Finn dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Finn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Eduardo doesn't seem bothered though. Finn misses with an uppercut. Eduardo saw that one coming. Finn fails with the takedown. Finn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Eduardo pinned against the cage. Eduardo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mickey Finn seems to be getting the better of the standup. Eduardo fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eduardo drives through and clinches with Finn against the cage.
Eduardo is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Finn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Eduardo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Finn lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Finn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Eduardo tries to get to full guard but Finn has control of the leg. Mickey Finn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Mickey Finn. I've got Finn winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
