Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Curiano Mohadef! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomas Skalinskas! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skalinskas shoots for a takedown but Mohadef saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Skalinskas fails with the takedown. Skalinskas shoots in for a takedown but Mohadef shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Curiano Mohadef has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomas Skalinskas. Skalinskas closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mohadef circles away. Skalinskas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mohadef as he avoids it easily. Mohadef tries to score with a low kick but Skalinskas moves his leg out of the way. Mohadef fakes the leg kick and cracks Skalinskas in the body. Skalinskas looks winded! A jab lands there for Mohadef.
It looks like Tomas Skalinskas has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice combo by Mohadef! Oh, that's hurt him - Skalinskas falls to the canvas and Mohadef follows him into side control.
Skalinskas is rocked! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Mohadef wants to stand but Skalinskas is controlling his arm. Skalinskas is still in real trouble! Can Mohadef finish him? Mohadef knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Skalinskas on the ground. Skalinskas seems to have recovered his senses. Skalinskas is trying to improve his position. Mohadef wants to stand but Skalinskas is controlling his arm. Skalinskas is looking to reverse the position. Skalinskas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Skalinskas manages to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skalinskas missing with punches from the bottom.
Skalinskas is looking to control Mohadef's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Skalinskas avoid being mounted? Skalinskas wants to improve his position but Mohadef is controlling well.
Mohadef wants to get back to his feet.
Skalinskas tries to roll over but Mohadef keeps him under control. The fighters are battling for position here. Skalinskas manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Mohadef tries to stand but Skalinskas is controlling from the bottom. Skalinskas has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Tomas Skalinskas has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Skalinskas shoots in and drives through. Mohadef sprawls well. A bone on bone clash there as Skalinskas blocks the leg kick.
Skalinskas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Skalinskas slips a nice elbow through Mohadef's hands, connecting with Mohadef's forehead. Mohadef is trying to stand back up but Skalinskas is controlling him
Mohadef trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Mohadef is in trouble now - Skalinskas has advanced to mount! Skalinskas landing punches. Mohadef's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Skalinskas cracks Mohadef with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skalinskas breaks from Mohadef's wrist control and lands an elbow. Skalinskas working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Mohadef looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Skalinskas! Submission of the night perhaps?
