Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emanoel Moreno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tsuyoshi Tamatso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tsuyoshi Tamatso is staring across the ring at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Emanoel Moreno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tsuyoshi Tamatso!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Moreno stuffs the takedown attempt from Tamatso. Tamatso gets slowly back to his feet.

and Moreno counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tamatso won't be happy with that.
Tamatso is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Moreno is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Moreno jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tamatso is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tamatso and Moreno has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Tamatso felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Tamatso is not content to let Moreno control the position.
Moreno wants to pass to mount but Tamatso is defending the position.
Tamatso is pressing down on Moreno's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Moreno wants to control from the top but Tamatso keeps moving.

We've been hearing good reports from Moreno's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Tamatso is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Tamatso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moreno tries to avoid it but Tamatso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moreno to the ground. Moreno escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tamatso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moreno's waist but Moreno gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tamatso off to one side.

and Moreno decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tamatso's guard.
Moreno wants to pass the guard but Tamatso is keeping the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tsuyoshi Tamatso wasn't active enough on the ground.

Tamatso gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Tamatso has given up his back. Will we see Moreno going for some submissions?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Moreno's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Moreno is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tamatso knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Moreno has hold of Tamatso's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tamatso seems comfortable defending it but Moreno has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tamatso is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tamatso is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Moreno couldn't care less - he's delighted!
