Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Pederson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Cullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jeremy Pederson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Pederson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Cullen!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cullen misses the shot to the body.
Cullen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pederson but Pederson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cullen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pederson as he avoids it easily.
Pederson tries to clinch there but Cullen circles away.

Cullen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Pederson tries to get to full guard but Cullen has control of the leg.
Cullen wants to pass to mount but Pederson is defending the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pederson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cullen.
Cullen is thwarting Pederson's attempts to control the position.
Cullen is tying to control. Pederson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cullen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pederson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nice uppercut lands for Cullen. That snapped Pederson's head back.
Cullen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pederson wants to clinch.
Pederson tries to clinch there but Cullen circles away.
Pederson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
No joy there for Pederson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Pederson!


Cullen is rocked!


It looks like Ryan Cullen has been cut.

Cullen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cullen looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Cullen is just content to waste time from the top position. Pederson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Pederson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Pederson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Pederson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cullen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pederson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pederson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pederson!
Cullen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Cullen looks gassed!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cullen is refusing to be controlled, as Pederson sits in half guard.
Cullen regains full guard. Nicely done.
Pederson pushes down on Cullen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cullen is doing well to control the position and prevent Pederson from advancing to side control.
Cullen works his way to full guard. Good work.
Pederson wants to control from the top but Cullen keeps moving.
Pederson throwing strikes but missing.

Cullen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pederson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Cullen keeping moving, preventing Pederson from controlling successfully.
Pederson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Cullen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pederson lands with a nice combination. Cullen backs away looking to recover.
Pederson wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremy Pederson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ryan Cullen's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A jab-cross combination lands for Pederson and sends Cullen crashing to the mat! Pederson follows him down to the mat - Cullen regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Cullen is still in real trouble! Can Pederson finish him?
Pederson is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Cullen is hurt! He's hurt bad - Pederson fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Cullen from any more punishment! Congratulations to Pederson! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeremy Pederson!
