Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mongo Bongo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brain Stann!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stann looks to clinch
and Bongo counters with a stiff right hand.
Stann looks for a takedown but Bongo sprawls well.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bongo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stann is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bongo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Stann jumps guard but Bongo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Mongo Bongo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brain Stann.
Bongo pulls Stann into guard.
Stann trying to control the position from guard on top but Bongo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bongo has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Stann doesn't defend quickly enough and Bongo has managed to lock this one up! Can Stann escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bongo on a fantastic submission victory.
