Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Takke Downlinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klam Pung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Takke Downlinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Klam Pung!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Downlinen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Downlinen in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Pung is trying to buck Downlinen off.
Downlinen just content to control the position.
Downlinen is putting a hurting on Pung here, landing some big shots from side control.
Pung is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Pung takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Pung gets back to half guard.
Downlinen performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Downlinen throwing shots but Pung is blocking nicely.
Pung tries to get to full guard but Downlinen has control of the leg.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Downlinen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pung's guard.
Pung being controlled here, momentarily.
Downlinen stops Pung from standing up.
Pung keeping moving, preventing Downlinen from controlling successfully.

Downlinen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pung on the ground.

Downlinen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Downlinen's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Pung is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pung tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Downlinen gets the takedown into side control.
Downlinen is looking to take a break and control but Pung is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pung gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Pung wants to get back to full guard.
Downlinen is trying to control the action in half guard but Pung is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

so Downlinen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Downlinen prevents Pung from getting back to his feet.

Downlinen stops Pung from standing up.
Downlinen controls from within his opponent's guard.

Pung throws his legs up looking for a submission but Downlinen uses it to pass to side control.

Downlinen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pung to the mat! Pung manages to get full guard.

Pung looking for a guillotine here but Downlinen defends easily.
Pung has momentary wrist control but Downlinen slips an elbow through the middle.

Downlinen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Downlinen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pung's head.
Takke Downlinen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Downlinen trying to control the position from guard on top but Pung is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nice sprawl there from Pung as Downlinen shoots in.

and Downlinen counters with a shoot takedown. Pung fights it but they end up in guard.

Pung working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Downlinen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Downlinen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pung tries to close the distance and clinch but Downlinen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Pung is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Downlinen pulls his head out easily.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Downlinen connects with a nice short shot to Pung's temple.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Downlinen is keen to just control but Pung is a slippery customer.

Pung is refusing to be controlled, as Downlinen sits in half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Pung has his takedown stuffed

and Downlinen counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Downlinen wants to control from the top but Pung keeps moving.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Downlinen wants to pass the guard but Pung is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pung is on top in guard.
Pung has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Downlinen is proving hard to escape from.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Downlinen holds on and takes a little breather.

Downlinen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pung stands and throws Downlinen's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Pung is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Downlinen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Downlinen wants to control but Pung postures up.

Pung looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Downlinen lands with an elbow strike from the bottom.
Downlinen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Downlinen is not content to let Pung control the position.
Downlinen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pung's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Downlinen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pung is tying to control. Downlinen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Pung is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Downlinen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pung.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Downlinen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pung looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Downlinen lands a decent elbow from side control.
Downlinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pung keeps working.
Pung manages to get back to half guard.
Pung is looking to escape.
Pung tries to roll over but Downlinen keeps him under control.
Downlinen trying to control the pace.
Downlinen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Klam Pung has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Downlinen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pung knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Downlinen stops Pung from getting back to his feet.
Pung is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Downlinen scores with a couple of nice shots.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Downlinen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pung swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Downlinen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pung counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Pung shoots and misses

and Downlinen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pung's guard now.
Downlinen with a nice head shot there.

Pung has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Downlinen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pung bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Downlinen's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Takke Downlinen showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Downlinen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
