Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 16 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mohammad Al Nasser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nigel McHughes!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Nasser tries to land a leg kick but McHughes saw it coming and moves away.

McHughes lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Al Nasser sprawling to the canvas. McHughes follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Al Nasser hang on?


It looks like Mohammad Al Nasser has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McHughes is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
McHughes sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
McHughes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McHughes lands a big elbow.

McHughes gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Sloppy strikes from McHughes. Those never looked like landing.

McHughes drives through with a takedown into Al Nasser's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
McHughes looking to pass the guard.
McHughes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Al Nasser's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Al Nasser wants to get back to full guard but McHughes has passed into side control.
Al Nasser gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
McHughes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
McHughes cracks Al Nasser with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nigel McHughes!
After winning the bout, Nigel McHughes thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
