Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mighty Lal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Dansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mighty Lal could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jon Dansen's chin.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dansen's waist but Dansen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lal off to one side.
Lal is looking to land body kicks.
Lal fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dansen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lal defends it nicely.
Mighty Lal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dansen shoots in looking for a takedown but Lal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dansen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dansen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dansen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lal's waist but Lal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dansen off to one side.
Mighty Lal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Dansen.

Lal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dansen keeps working.

Dansen is not content to let Lal control the position.

Dansen is pushing Lal's head away, looking to escape. Lal manages to hold on to the position though.
Lal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lal in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Lal is looking to take a break and control but Dansen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lal wants to pass the guard but Dansen is defending well.
Dansen holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Dansen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lal wants to stand but Dansen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Dansen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lal wants to control from the top but Dansen keeps moving.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Dansen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Dansen gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lal regains guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dansen wants to take his opponent's back but Lal doesn't allow it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dansen controlling the pace for now.

Dansen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That kick from Lal tenderised Dansen's leg. Dansen is trying to keep his angry face on.
Lal scores with a spinning back kick!
Lal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lal wants it to stay on the feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lal not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dansen trying to control but Lal is working from the bottom.
Dansen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lal haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Dansen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lal doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dansen.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dansen in particular looking to stall.

Jon Dansen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Lal controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Dansen wants to stand up but Lal is controlling him.

Lal drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dansen dives on top into guard.
Dansen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dansen works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Dansen is trying for a kimura here. Lal looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Dansen wins by kimura!
