The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Perreira as Said shoots in.
Said slips under a jab.
Said misses with a takedown
and Perreira counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Perreira.
Perreira breaks the clinch.
Said tries to clinch up.
Perreira throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Perreira misses with a body shot.
Said wants to clinch up but Perreira keeps it at a distance.
Said throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Perreira has Said up against the cage in a clinch.
Said prevents Perreira from breaking the clinch.
Perreira tries to break free but Said pushes him back against the cage.
Perreira pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Said could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Said misses with a takedown attempt
and Perreira counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Perreira.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Said. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Said wants to stand and escape but Perreira is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Said looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Perreira is defending well. Said quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Perreira has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Said celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jon Said!
A pretty intense looking Jon Said took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
