0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jerome St Pierre! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mooney shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. St Pierre is trying to defend but Mooney finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. St Pierre regains full guard. Nicely done. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. St Pierre has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mooney is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for St Pierre. Mooney wants to stand but St Pierre has his arm trapped. St Pierre is trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! St Pierre drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mooney dives on top into guard. St Pierre manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mooney holds on for dear life, controlling St Pierre's posture momentarily. Mooney working to try and regain half guard.

Mooney will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. St Pierre loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mooney wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Mooney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

St Pierre goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mooney rolls with the submission and now he's on top in St Pierre's guard! Nice work there by Mooney! Mooney would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mooney stands and steps away. St Pierre gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

St Pierre goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mooney has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for St Pierre but great work by Mooney. Mooney is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but St Pierre is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

St Pierre pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mooney is keeping the position for now. Mooney looking to hit a scissor sweep but St Pierre is one step ahead there. Mooney looking for subs off his back but St Pierre has passed one foot through into half guard.
