The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson misses with an uppercut. Rickson saw that one coming.
Rickson throws a lazy right hand but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rickson pulls Anderson into guard.
Anderson stopping the sweep attempt from Rickson.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rickson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Anderson has passed into side control.

Rickson is not content to let Anderson control the position.
Anderson wants to stand but Rickson is controlling his arm.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rickson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Anderson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rickson jumps into guard, dragging Anderson to the mat.

The fighters are battling for position here. Anderson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Anderson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rickson lands a couple of elbows.

Rickson tries to free his leg and advance position but Anderson is retaining full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Anderson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rickson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Anderson unloads with some shots from mount but Rickson bucks and avoids them well.

Anderson wants to control the pace but Rickson is squirming around nicely.
Anderson is really struggling to control Rickson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Duddy Anderson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Horrible takedown by Rickson or perhaps it was just good defense by Anderson which made him look bad.
Rickson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson wants to get back to his feet.
Rickson decides to stand up.

Rickson is breathing heavily.
Rickson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Rickson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Anderson is looking to reverse the position.
Rickson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Anderson tries to control but Rickson wriggling away.

Anderson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Rickson! Can he survive? No! He's out! Anderson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
