Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hung Odonnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Hung Odonnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vinny Murphy!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Odonnell tries for a takedown but Murphy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Murphy throws a series of punches but Odonnell avoids them all with ease.
Murphy misses with a takedown attempt - Odonnell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Murphy throws a combination that misses

and Odonnell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Odonnell keeps control of Murphy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Odonnell is working for takedown but Murphy is calmly controlling the position for now.

Odonnell wants the takedown. Murphy is fighting it off but Odonnell persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Murphy's guard against the cage.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Odonnell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Odonnell tries to clinch up but Murphy circles away and keeps his distance.
Murphy tries to clinch but Odonnell is having none of it.
Odonnell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nice sprawl there from Murphy as Odonnell shoots in.

and Odonnell counters with a single leg into guard. Murphy didn't expect that.

Murphy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Murphy wants to stand and escape but instead Odonnell has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Murphy has his hands on Odonnell's head, controlling the position.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Vinny Murphy was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Murphy drives through and clinches with Odonnell against the cage.
Murphy is trying to break the clinch but Odonnell is controlling him.
Odonnell keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Murphy's efforts to push away.
Murphy stops a takedown attempt from Odonnell.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Hung Odonnell will probably get the nod.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Odonnell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Odonnell throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Murphy wants to stand and escape but instead Odonnell has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's time! Odonnell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Odonnell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Murphy was covering up waiting for the punch and Odonnell finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Odonnell stands and steps away. Murphy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Murphy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Odonnell on his heels. He'll look to pass Odonnell's guard now, I'm sure.

Odonnell has Murphy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Murphy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Murphy breaks the clinch.

Murphy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Odonnell to the ground. Murphy is now in Odonnell's guard.
Murphy wants to get up but he can't break Odonnell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Odonnell is trying to control the position but Murphy postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Murphy tries to stand but Odonnell is controlling from the bottom.
Odonnell has control of Murphy's left arm, preventing Murphy from doing any damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Hung Odonnell wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Murphy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Murphy tries for a takedown but Odonnell circles away easily
and Odonnell counters with a nice low kick that buckles Murphy's knee momentarily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Odonnell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Vinny Murphy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hung Odonnell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hung Odonnell.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Odonnell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
