Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samick Behringer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelly Haynes! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Haynes tries to clinch up and Behringer counters with a one-two to the body. Haynes is looking to clinch. Behringer with a nice cross. Haynes slips a straight right by Behringer. Behringer lands an overhand right. Haynes moves into the clinch. Behringer wants a takedown but no success here.
Behringer has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Haynes is trying to keep an underhook but Behringer manages to get the takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Behringer prevents Haynes from improving his position. Haynes actively working from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Behringer wants to pass to mount but Haynes is defending the position. Haynes is trying to control but can't.
Haynes avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Behringer. Behringer not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Behringer throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. We've been hearing good reports from Behringer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Haynes trying to control here.
Behringer scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Haynes is pressing down on Behringer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Behringer wants to pass the guard but Haynes is keeping the position. Haynes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haynes has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Behringer should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Haynes has tightened it up now! Behringer should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
