Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rickie Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Diego (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Diego will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rickie Myers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Diego! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Chris Dean and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Myers shoots in for a takedown but Diego shows good takedown defense. Myers really is a fat lump. Diego has closed the distance and engaged Myers in a clinch.
Diego slows down the pace here.
Diego tries to break free but Myers pushes him back against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Diego keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Myers's efforts to push away. Diego is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Diego has had enough of the clinch but Myers keeps him there for the moment. Diego is trying to break the clinch but Myers has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diego tries to circle away but Myers has him pinned against the cage. Diego fails to pull guard.
Diego tries to throw a body punch but Myers avoids it by throwing Diego back against the cage. Diego turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Myers manages to get back to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Diego in particular looking to stall. Diego tries to pass the half guard into mount. Myers knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Diego landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Myers is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Diego pulls his head out easily. Diego content to control rather than advance. Myers misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Myers is trying to get back to full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Diego in particular looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason Diego was stalling too much, according to the referee. Diego tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Diego drives through with a takedown into Myers's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Myers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Diego got a little sloppy there for a moment and Myers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diego has managed to get both his arms back between Myers's legs - danger averted. Diego has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Myers is proving hard to escape from. Diego is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diego is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Myers doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Diego wants to get up but he can't break Myers's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Diego is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Diego controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Myers has his foot on Diego's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diego works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Diego dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Myers goes for a double leg but Diego avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Diego continues to drive forward. Nice body punch from Diego - that landed with a thud.
A battle for position here, against the cage. Diego is trying to force a seperation but Myers has the dominant position. Diego has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Myers avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Diego has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Diego has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Myers clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
That's one minute gone in the round. Diego lands a shot to the body. Myers is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Diego gets his way!
I really don't envy Myers right now.
Diego is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Myers knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Myers for a finish. Myers is trying to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diego just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Diego's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Myers is trying to break free.
Diego keeps control of the position easily here as Myers tries to buck him off.
Jason Diego has got the better of the ground game so far. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. I really don't envy Myers right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is taking a good look at Myers as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Diego!
Diego is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Diego is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Myers taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Diego.
