Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Pham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jones might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Never Say Never-Justine Bieber Feat. Jaden Smith. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Pham!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Pham gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jones goes for a takedown attempt but Pham pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Pham shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones shoots for a takedown but Pham saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A right-left combo lands from Jones.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pham misses with a shot to the body
and Jones counters with a right hand to the body.
Pham swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Pham is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pham looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones trying to control but Pham is working from the bottom.

Jon Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pham tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pham to the ground. Pham escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pham misses with a body kick.

Pham looking to score a takedown here. Jones is defending well but Pham drives through and ends up in Jones's guard.
Jones is pulling down on Pham's head. It's preventing any offense from Pham, at least for the moment.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Pham from controlling successfully.

Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pham is aware though and is defending well.
Jones is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Elite Training Facility that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pham scoring with some ground and pound.
Pham working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Pham really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pham throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pham trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.

Jones is looking to cinch up a triangle. Pham throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jones's body to avoid the submission. Jones has instead reached around Pham's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jones arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jon Jones!
Jon Jones was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
