PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donny Driftwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Driftwood shoots in looking for a takedown. Booth tries to sprawl out of it but Driftwood keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Booth manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Driftwood looks to clinch
and Booth counters with a body kick.

Driftwood scores with a crisp jab that stopped Booth in his tracks.
Booth dives in and grabs Driftwood's left leg, looking for a takedown. Driftwood pushes down on Booth's head and hops out.
Driftwood swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Booth really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Driftwood lands with a nice combination. Booth backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Dallas Booth has been cut.

Oooooh!!! Driftwood has knocked Booth down with a huge combo! Driftwood steps away and waves a wobbly Booth back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Booth gets tackled into the cage by Driftwood. Driftwood maintains the clinch.
Oh Booth is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Booth is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Driftwood pulls Booth into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Booth wants to get up but he can't break Driftwood's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Driftwood keeping moving, preventing Booth from controlling successfully.

Driftwood is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Booth presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Driftwood pulls guard.

Driftwood has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Booth can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Booth will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Booth tries to free his leg and advance position but Driftwood is retaining full guard.

Driftwood manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Booth seems to have got his legs back now.
Booth dives in for a single leg takedown but Driftwood sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Driftwood dodges an elbow strike from Booth.
Booth is trying to pull guard but Driftwood has him pressed against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dallas Booth. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Driftwood is trying to drag Booth to the mat but Booth just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Driftwood jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Booth walks away with a smile on his face. Driftwood gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Driftwood throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Booth stumbling backwards into the cage! Booth bounces back off the cage towards Driftwood, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Driftwood lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Driftwood celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
