Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maik Moehring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moehring has chosen 2 Steps from hell - Protectors of the earth as his entrance music. Maik Moehring has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Harper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maik Moehring! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harper tries to bum rush Moehring with a series of wild strikes but Moehring uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Moehring lands a right hook to the body.
Moehring throws a head kick that misses. Harper wants to clinch and Moehring holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Harper jumps guard.
Moehring won't allow Harper to get back to his feet. Moehring won't allow Harper to sweep him here. Harper really is a fat lump. Harper utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Moehring looking to sit in guard and control but Harper gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Harper stopping the sweep attempt from Moehring.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Moehring striking off his back but it's not causing Harper any problems. Harper gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Moehring closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harper circles away. Harper slips a jab and a cross from Moehring.
Moehring throws a series of punches but Harper avoids them all with ease. Luke Harper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Moehring has Harper up against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harper tries to break the clinch but Moehring is controlling the position. Harper pulls guard. Moehring decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Moehring gets a clinch. Harper jumps guard.
Harper has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Moehring is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Harper. Harper might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Moehring throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moehring tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Moehring has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Harper throws Moehring to one side and escapes! Moehring moves into the clinch. Harper pulls guard successfully.
Harper manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moehring escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Maik Moehring seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harper clinches. Harper wants to break free but Moehring has control.
Harper is stalling here.
Moehring jumps guard but Harper turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. A bit of stalling here from Harper.
Harper decides to pull guard. Moehring trying to control but Harper is working from the bottom. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harper manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Moehring manages to get himself to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Luke Harper will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Harper throws a head kick that misses and Moehring counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Harper thinking. Moehring lands a head kick!
It looks like Luke Harper has been cut. Harper tries to clinch up. Harper closes the distance and clinches. Harper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Harper gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Moehring stalling the fight.
Moehring manages to break the clinch.
Harper tries to clinch up. Harper moves into the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Harper pulls guard effortlessly. Moehring drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Harper manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Moehring has Harper in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harper stopping the sweep attempt from Moehring. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Harper's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harper passes Moehring's left leg - he's now in half guard. Harper is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Moehring wants to control but Harper is keeping busy.
Harper prevents Moehring from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moehring is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harper escapes and gets back to his feet. Harper avoids the head kick by Moehring.
Moehring shoots in looking for a takedown. Harper tries to sprawl out of it but Moehring keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harper manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Moehring misses with a takedown so Harper counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Harper keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Moehring's head. Harper lands a couple of elbows. Harper drops back looking for a leg! Moehring is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Moehring manages to kick Harper off! Harper jumps back into Moehring's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harper postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Luke Harper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Harper lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Moehring is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Harper dives into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Harper tries for a kimura but Moehring is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Harper dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Luke Harper's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Moehring looks to land a combination but Harper avoids it well. Harper tries to keep at a distance but Moehring has taken the fight into the clinch. Harper lands a takedown into guard.
Harper stands and steps away. Moehring gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Moehring shoots and misses and Harper counters by clinching up. Moehring keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Harper's efforts to push away. Harper has clasped his hands together around Moehring's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Moehring takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Moehring takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moehring is looking to reverse the position. Harper is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Moehring is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Harper thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Harper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Harper is working Moehring over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Moehring knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Harper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. This has been an exciting period of action! Harper tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Moehring is working to avoid the ground and pound but Harper connects with a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harper working the head and body with strikes. Moehring tries to buck Harper off but Harper is having none of it. Harper wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Moehring, who protects the arm well. Moehring regains half guard. Harper looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harper is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Moehring pushes Harper off looking to stand but Harper dives back in and keeps control.
And that's the end of the fight! Luke Harper showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Harper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
