PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Calle Leopad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scotty Barrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barrett has chosen Les Paul and Mary Ford ~ I'm A Fool To Care as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leopad closes the distance and clinches up with Barrett, looking for a takedown. Leopad pushes Barrett against the cage but Barrett circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Leopad gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Barrett would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Barrett is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Barrett sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Leopad's guard.
Barrett prevents Leopad from improving his position.
Leopad trying to control but Barrett postures up.
Leopad punching from the bottom.
Leopad is looking for a sweep. Barrett is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barrett sitting and controlling from the half guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Scotty Barrett wasn't active enough on the ground.

Barrett drops Leopad with a nice combination! Barrett dives into Leopad's guard, looking to finish!

Leopad is rocked!

It looks like Calle Leopad has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barrett stands and steps away. Leopad gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oh Leopad is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Barrett connects with a superb combination that knocks Leopad out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Barrett before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Leopad!

Scotty Barrett spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
