Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lurppa Korva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lurppa Korva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lurppa Korva! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Korva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Korva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Swanson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Korva! Korva is trying desperately to improve position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Swanson controlling the position easily from mount. Korva really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swanson trying to control but he's not successful this time. Korva tries to get back to half guard but can't. Korva slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Korva keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Swanson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Korva wants to get back to full guard. Swanson wants to control but Korva is keeping him busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Swanson wants to clinch. Swanson takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Korva lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Swanson tries to clinch but Korva is having none of it. Swanson gets caught flat footed, as Korva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Korva won't allow Swanson to get back to his feet. Korva wants to control from the top but Swanson keeps moving. Swanson is trying to control the position but Korva postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swanson is really struggling to control Korva but he's trying to hold on to the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Swanson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Korva trying to control but Swanson is working from the bottom. Swanson looking for a sweep. Not yet Swanson, not yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lurppa Korva will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Korva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Swanson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Korva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Swanson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Swanson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Korva controlling Swanson's posture. Swanson trying to control but Korva is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Korva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Swanson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Korva swivels though and keeps the full guard. Korva tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Swanson trying to control the position from guard on top but Korva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Swanson slips nicely into half guard. Swanson is looking to take a break and control but Korva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Swanson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling Korva to counter with a crisp jab. Swanson moves into the clinch successfully.

Swanson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Korva can't fight it off and eventually Swanson manages to take the fight to the floor. Korva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Swanson trying to control the position from guard on top but Korva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Joe Swanson dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Swanson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Korva counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Joe Swanson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Swanson regains full guard. Nicely done. Swanson keeping moving, preventing Korva from controlling successfully. Korva loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Korva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Swanson is trying to hold Korva in close to prevent damage but Korva has managed to pass into half guard.

Korva is figuring out what he wants to do next. Korva missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Swanson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Swanson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Swanson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Korva won't allow Swanson to get back to his feet. Swanson trying to keep a closed guard but Korva is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swanson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Korva! Korva wants to hold on but Swanson pushes him away.

Swanson tries to control but Korva wriggling away. Swanson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Korva is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Swanson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Korva on the ground. Swanson controlling from mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Lurppa Korva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Korva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
