Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Bruny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Hayway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nathan Hayway will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerome Bruny! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Hayway! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruny misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hayway.
Nathan Hayway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hayway lands a jab to the nose. Hayway delivers a nice body kick. Bruny avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Bruny lands a slapping body shot.
Bruny scores with a jab. Hayway acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Bruny drives through with a takedown into guard. Bruny is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hayway is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bruny not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Bruny trying to move into half guard but instead Hayway has managed to sweep! Bruny seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayway being controlled here momentarily. Bruny keeping full guard, as Hayway tries to pass. Hayway is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Hayway must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bruny escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hayway gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hayway postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bruny is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hayway, into his guard. Bruny cracks Hayway with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bruny throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hayway works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bruny throwing strikes from guard but Hayway blocks nicely. Hayway working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bruny. Hayway can't keep his opponent in guard - Bruny advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bruny trying to control from half guard but Hayway is working away. Bruny seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hayway is looking for a sweep. Bruny is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruny is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hayway! Bruny lands a heavy elbow. The referee warns Hayway that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Bruny landing strikes from the mount and Hayway is in trouble! Bruny landing shots from mount. Hayway tries to hold on but Bruny pushes him away. Bruny scoring with strikes but Hayway is staying in there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bruny cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
This has been an exciting period of action! Bruny landing strikes, looking to finish! Hayway looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Bruny jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hayway is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hayway and Bruny has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bruny grinds an elbow into Hayway's temple. Bruny is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hayway is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hayway is looking for a sweep. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bruny is working Hayway over with some ground and pound from side control. You can see the frustration on Hayway's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruny moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Bruny digs a good body shot into Hayway's ribs. Hayway throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Bruny uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hayway.
Hayway throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Bruny throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hayway is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hayway closes the distance looking to clinch and Bruny counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bruny throws a leg kick that misses. Hayway tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hayway is looking to score with low kicks. Bruny moves out of range of the strikes. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hayway.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayway throws the kick towards the body but Bruny avoids it. Hayway closes the distance and pushes Bruny back into the cage. Hayway's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Donk. Bruny catches Hayway right on the button with a cross. A kick lands to the mid section there for Hayway. Hayway throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Hayway gets caught flat footed, as Bruny shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Hayway keeping moving, preventing Bruny from controlling successfully. Bruny landing with the ground and pound. Bruny with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bruny lands a couple of elbows. Hayway working a defensive guard but Bruny manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Hayway tries to bench press Bruny off him but Bruny keeps the position. You can see the frustration on Hayway's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jerome Bruny overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hayway is looking for a sweep. Bruny lands a nice forearm strike. Hayway manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bruny's best efforts. Hayway wants to control the action here but instead Bruny manages to pass to full mount! BOOM! Bruny connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hayway bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Bruny has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bruny looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hayway passes into side control.
Bruny might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruny struggling a bit here. Hayway wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bruny keeps working. Hayway working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Bruny isn't going anywhere. Bruny struggling a bit here.

Hayway won't allow Bruny to sweep him here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bruny keeping moving, preventing Hayway from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jerome Bruny will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Bruny defending well as Hayway loads up on a big left hand. Bruny is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hayway. Hayway ducks under a wild hook from Bruny. Bruny throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hayway throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Hayway pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Bruny throws a wild body kick that Hayway sees coming a mile off. Hayway takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Hayway looks to throw a body kick letting Bruny counter with a right hand. Hayway throws a head kick but Bruny moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bruny misses with an uppercut. Bruny lands with a shot to the body. Good work by Hayway as he checks the leg kick. Hayway lands with a nice body kick. Hayway misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bruny uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hayway has time to react. Hayway looks to land a body kick but Bruny moved away. Hayway looks to land a left hand but Bruny moved out of range nicely. Hayway lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Bruny cracks Hayway with an open hand slap. No joy there for Hayway, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bruny ducks under a wild hook from Hayway. Nathan Hayway seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hayway misses with a kick to the body.

Hayway wants to clinch and Bruny counters with a nice double leg into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bruny connects with a nice short shot to Hayway's temple. Hayway is looking to improve his position.
Hayway is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bruny scores with a couple of nice shots. Bruny controlling the pace. Bruny lands with a punch from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruny is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Hayway still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Hayway has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Bruny tries to improve position but can't. Bruny wants to control but Hayway postures up. Bruny is trying to improve his position. Bruny sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Bruny is pressing down on Hayway's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Bruny has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Hayway drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bruny dives on top into guard. Jerome Bruny is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bruny stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hayway swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hayway controls Bruny momentarily but Bruny frees himself. Bruny throwing strikes from guard but Hayway blocks nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bruny wants to control from the top but Hayway keeps moving. Nathan Hayway has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bruny got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hayway has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bruny has managed to get both his arms back between Hayway's legs - danger averted.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jerome Bruny. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bruny, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
