Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darrin Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Wooten Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darrin Hoffman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Wooten Jr! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wooten Jr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wooten Jr tries to clinch but fails miserably and Hoffman counters by clinching up. Hoffman pulls guard successfully.
Wooten Jr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wooten Jr trying to control but Hoffman is working from the bottom. Wooten Jr throws a strike but Hoffman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hoffman slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Wooten Jr. Hoffman not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wooten Jr is looking for a sweep. Hoffman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Wooten Jr is trying is best to control the position here. Wooten Jr is looking to control Hoffman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wooten Jr avoid being mounted? Wooten Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hoffman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wooten Jr wants to improve his position but Hoffman is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoffman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wooten Jr trying to hold on to Hoffman's head to control him but Hoffman postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wooten Jr is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wooten Jr can do anything to dispel that myth. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hoffman connects with a nice short shot to Wooten Jr's temple. Hoffman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Wooten Jr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hoffman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Wooten Jr is looking to get back to his feet here but Hoffman is keeping cool and he's managed to take Wooten Jr's back. Wooten Jr can't escape the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hoffman is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Wooten Jr is defending well though. Hoffman let's go of the attempt for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wooten Jr. Wooten Jr shoots in but Hoffman avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hoffman dodges the punch combination from Wooten Jr.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloppy strikes from Wooten Jr. Those never looked like landing. Wooten Jr clinches up against the cage.

Darrin Hoffman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Wooten Jr. Hoffman has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Wooten Jr uses from the top position. Wooten Jr being controlled here momentarily. Wooten Jr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoffman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hoffman trying to keep a closed guard but Wooten Jr is proving a slippery customer.

Hoffman is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Wooten Jr has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hoffman not allowing Wooten Jr to control his hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's got his arms around Hoffman's waist but Hoffman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wooten Jr off to one side. Hoffman takes the fight into the clinch. Wooten Jr taking a breather. Hoffman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wooten Jr prevents it.
Wooten Jr tries to stall but Hoffman uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Hoffman manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoffman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Wooten Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wooten Jr shoots in looking for a takedown but Hoffman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wooten Jr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wooten Jr takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hoffman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hoffman throws a head kick that misses. Wooten Jr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hoffman avoids it really well and circles away. Wooten Jr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoffman leaves Wooten Jr with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Wooten Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hoffman sprawls well. Hoffman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wooten Jr gets slowly back to his feet. Hoffman works the jab nicely. Wooten Jr tries to clinch but Hoffman moves out of range. Wooten Jr shoots for a double leg takedown but Hoffman sprawls well. He's pushed Wooten Jr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Hoffman. Wooten Jr shoots in and drives through. Hoffman sprawls well. Wooten Jr blocks a head kick by Hoffman.
Wooten Jr throws a head kick that misses and Hoffman counters with a takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hoffman misses with the ground and pound. Hoffman scoring with punches and elbows. Hoffman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wooten Jr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hoffman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that's the end of the fight! Darrin Hoffman showed his dominance in that final round. Well Hoffman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
