PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lennart Emmerich Jaeger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jaeger comes to the cage accompanied by One Trick Pony. Griffin has chosen Dr. FeelGood as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Lennart Emmerich Jaeger has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Steve Erwin and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaeger rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Griffin counters with a nice right hand that sends Jaeger toppling to the canvas! Jaeger scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Griffin finish him?!


It looks like Lennart Emmerich Jaeger has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jaeger throws the left hand but Griffin avoids the punch easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Griffin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Jaeger shoots in but Griffin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've been told by Jaeger's head coaches at Sydney Elite Systems that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jaeger throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Jaeger gets caught napping as Griffin dives in and scores a takedown. Jaeger manages to retain guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Griffin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Griffin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jaeger on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jaeger tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jaeger tries to get to full guard but Griffin has control of the leg.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jaeger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jaeger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jaeger looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Griffin is defending well. Jaeger quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Griffin has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jaeger celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

A less than humble Lennart Emmerich Jaeger misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
