Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Denis Burza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Roach!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burza shoots for a double leg takedown but Roach sprawls well. He's pushed Burza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Roach shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Burza is looking to control Roach's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Burza avoid being mounted?
Roach controlling the pace.
Burza works his way to full guard. Good work.

Roach stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Burza is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Burza seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roach does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Roach felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Denis Burza wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Burza dives in for a single leg takedown but Roach sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes.

Burza is trying to trip Roach. He has hold of a leg but Roach is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Burza persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Roach fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Burza avoids it really well and circles away.

Burza tries to score a power double leg takedown but Roach sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Burza somewhat.

Burza is pushing down on Roach's leg trying to pass to half guard. Roach is fighting to maintain full guard but Burza has managed to sneak the leg through.
Roach won't allow Burza to pass to mount.

Burza thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Burza throws a strike but Roach avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Burza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roach has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Burza has managed to get both his arms back between Roach's legs - danger averted.

Roach is cranking Burza's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Burza! He's tightened the choke and Burza is tapping out!
