Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pete Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Ben Faur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben Faur has chosen remember the name as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pete Gordon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jean Ben Faur!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ben Faur has his takedown stuffed
and Gordon counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Jean Ben Faur has been cut.
Gordon throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ben Faur stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Gordon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jean Ben Faur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ben Faur tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gordon thows a left - swing and a miss!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Gordon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.


Ben Faur is rocked!
Pete Gordon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean Ben Faur.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Gordon wants to get up but he can't break Ben Faur's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Ben Faur wants to sweep here but Gordon controlling him for the moment.
Gordon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Ben Faur controls Gordon momentarily but Gordon frees himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gordon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ben Faur has his foot on Gordon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gordon works his way back into a safe position though.

Ben Faur looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gordon is defending well. Ben Faur quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gordon has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ben Faur celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jean Ben Faur!
