Sztrova has chosen In Flames - Delight and Anger as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peter Maynard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Soz Sztrova!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sztrova tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Sztrova checks a low kick from Maynard.
Sztrova avoids the head kick by Maynard.

Sztrova is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Maynard's half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Maynard wants to get back to his feet.
Sztrova not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Sztrova is working for a submission of some sort.
Maynard looks like he's trying to stand up.

Sztrova looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sztrova throws a strike but Maynard avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Sztrova is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Maynard is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Maynard has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sztrova lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Maynard!
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Sztrova working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Sztrova misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Sztrova sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Sztrova is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Maynard has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Maynard!

Sztrova has his foot on Maynard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maynard works his way back into a safe position though.
Maynard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Maynard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sztrova has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maynard has managed to get both his arms back between Sztrova's legs - danger averted.

Sztrova working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maynard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maynard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sztrova goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Maynard turns into him and now he's in Sztrova's guard.

Sztrova isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maynard stacks Sztrova on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maynard!
Sztrova is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Maynard's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Maynard prevents Sztrova from improving his position.

Sztrova looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Soz Sztrova has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sztrova moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Sztrova bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maynard's guard.
Sztrova advances position into side control!
Sztrova cracks Maynard with an elbow. That is naaassty.


It looks like Peter Maynard has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sztrova thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sztrova looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Sztrova throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Sztrova is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Maynard looks calm but he's in trouble here. Sztrova gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Maynard is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Sztrova lets go of the hold and Maynard can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Soz Sztrova!
An out of breath Soz Sztrova thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
