Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris Colbert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andrzej Pies! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Colbert checks the leg kick nicely there.
Colbert looks for the body kick but Pies saw that one coming. Colbert fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Pies checks it well. Colbert shoots in and gets a takedown into Pies's guard. Colbert trying to control but Pies is working from the bottom. Colbert advances to half guard. Pies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Colbert. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pies trying to control but Colbert postures up.
Colbert looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Colbert has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Colbert thows a huge punch but Pies dodges it nicely.

Colbert thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Colbert has his foot on Pies's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pies works his way back into a safe position though.

Pies can't keep his opponent in guard - Colbert advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Colbert is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pies sees it coming and defends easily. Colbert looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Colbert is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Pies is refusing to be controlled, as Colbert sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Colbert thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Colbert moves nicely into side control. Colbert tries to move into full mount but can't pass Pies's legs. Pies wants to control but Colbert postures up. Colbert is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pies has escaped the position, nice work there. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pies prevents Colbert from improving position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pies is trying to defend but Colbert finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Colbert is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pies defends it well. Colbert has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Colbert controlling from the full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Colbert tries to control but Pies wriggling away. Colbert looking to ground and pound but Pies is blocking nicely. That's two minutes gone in the round. Colbert controls from within his opponent's guard. Colbert slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Pies dodges the ground and pound from Colbert. Pies stops Colbert from passing to mount. Pies wants to control but Colbert postures up. Colbert remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Sloppy strikes there by Colbert.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Colbert. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Colbert, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
