Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Graham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. UFC - Face the Pain kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cain Velasquez! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Graham throws a series of punches but Velasquez avoids them all with ease. Graham will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Velasquez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Velasquez lands a couple of digs. Velasquez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Graham wants to stand and escape but Velasquez is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasquez gets to his feet. Graham looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Graham throws a right and a left that Velasquez avoids nicely. That's one minute gone in the round. Graham ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Velasquez moves away. Graham misses the shot to the body. Graham throws a series of punches but Velasquez avoids them all with ease. Graham is breathing heavily. Graham throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Graham throws a hook but Velasquez avoids it easily. Graham throws a shot from downtown. Velasquez moves away and avoids it. Graham misses with a lunging right hand
and Velasquez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Velasquez feints and as Graham raises his hands in defense, Velasquez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Velasquez connects with a couple of short punches. Graham keeping moving, preventing Velasquez from controlling successfully. Graham knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Velasquez on the ground. Graham is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Graham will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Velasquez connects with a couple of short punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Velasquez lands a couple of digs. Velasquez trying to control but Graham is working from the bottom. Velasquez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Velasquez content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Velasquez landing some decent shots from guard. Graham has momentary wrist control but Velasquez slips an elbow through the middle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Velasquez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Graham's head. Velasquez chips away with some ground and pound. Velasquez lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Graham is rocked! Velasquez working some strikes from top position. Oh Graham is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Velasquez arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Graham's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Cain Velasquez!
