Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by give me everything tonight pitbull ft. ne-yo afrojack & nayer. John Johnson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, John Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Logan Gracie! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance. Johnson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Johnson tries a low kick but Gracie avoids it. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gracie shoots in but no luck this time. We've been told by Johnson's head coaches at TAP ROOT -/- 10 Coaches / Great Sparring / Value that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Johnson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Gracie sneaks back into half guard. Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though. Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. Gracie is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted? Johnson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Gracie trying to control from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of John Johnson. Gracie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely. John Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Logan Gracie. Nice takedown defense from Gracie. No joy for Johnson on that attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking to clinch. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie. Johnson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Gracie. A head kick from Gracie lands but Johnson takes it in his stride. Johnson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Johnson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground. Gracie wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.
Gracie is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie is trying to stand up here but Johnson is controlling him well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson prevents Gracie from improving his position. Johnson wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well. Johnson wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gracie gets back to full guard.
Gracie controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gracie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Johnson trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Johnson will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gracie dives in and grabs Johnson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. Gracie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.
Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Gracie is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea. Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Johnson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gracie wants to stand but Johnson is controlling the position. Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard. Gracie won't allow Johnson to sweep him here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Gracie is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control. Johnson wants to stand but Gracie is controlling the position. Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard. Gracie trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg. Gracie blocks the strikes from Johnson.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie wants to take a breather but Johnson is having none of it. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Johnson tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Gracie is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Logan Gracie. Johnson wants to clinch up but Gracie keeps it at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson keeps the fight on the outside. Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Johnson. Johnson throws a leg kick but Gracie sees it coming and moves out of range. Gracie dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. John Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Logan Gracie. Gracie keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Johnson's efforts to push away. Gracie pulls guard effortlessly. Gracie wants to stand and escape but Johnson is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson cracks Gracie with a solid left hand. Johnson stops Gracie from standing up. Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Johnson controlling him for the moment. Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie is trying to keep Johnson in close.

Logan Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Gracie misses the shot to the body. Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Johnson. Gracie throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range. Gracie slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie. Johnson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gracie defends well and Johnson ends up having to push Gracie into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gracie walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gracie paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gracie darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Gracie into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson is proving a slippery customer.
Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gracie is trying to keep Johnson in close.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Logan Gracie has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. A left lands for Johnson. Gracie looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Gracie loads up on a big right hand but Johnson slips the punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Gracie is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Johnson wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his arm. Johnson wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. Johnson takes a little break here. Gracie wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Gracie regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie regains full guard. Nicely done. Johnson trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie is trying to keep Johnson in close.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Johnson wants to stand and escape but instead Gracie has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Johnson is wriggling around but Gracie manages to pass to half guard.

Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. Johnson trying to hold on to Gracie's head to control him but Gracie postures up.
Logan Gracie has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Logan Gracie. Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
