Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Santino Marella (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andrei Cote looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santino Marella!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrei Cote!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marella.
Marella gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cote counters with a left and a right that stings Marella.
Marella shoots for a takedown but Cote saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Marella dips to his left and cracks Cote with an uppercut!


It looks like Andrei Cote has been cut.
Marella misses with a jab, cross combination.
Marella tries to clinch up.
Cote fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cote's coach down at Extreme MMA (4 Elites $250/week) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cote's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Marella fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cote avoids it really well and circles away.

Marella feints a jab promting Cote to slip. Marella then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cote slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Marella throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cote escapes and throws Marella's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Marella, as that shot connected.

Marella throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cote was covering up waiting for the punch and Marella finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marella tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
That kick from Marella tenderised Cote's leg. Cote is trying to keep his angry face on.

Marella throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cote's waist but Cote gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marella off to one side.
Marella shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cote as he jumps to the side.

Cote really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marella. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Marella has gone for a leg lock! Cote slips out almost immediately though and dives into Marella's guard.

Marella is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Marella has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Cote is on him like a limpet, forcing Marella back against the cage.

Marella stalling away here and it's allowed Cote to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Marella has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
