The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mladenov feints and as Smith raises his hands in defense, Mladenov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smith is wriggling around but Mladenov manages to pass to half guard.
Mladenov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
Mladenov is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mladenov to get the leverage.
