Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Demarce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Christian Orsted!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demarce changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Orsted looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Demarce controlling the position from side mount.
Orsted is trying to control Demarce's posture but Demarce avoids it.
Demarce creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Orsted sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Demarce is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Orsted knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Orsted is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Demarce is staying tight to Orsted's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Orsted tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Demarce wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Demarce cracks Orsted with a big elbow.
Orsted is trying to control Demarce's posture but Demarce avoids it.
Demarce is working to tighten his grip on Orsted's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Orsted has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Demarce is really squeezing tight and eventually Orsted passes out! Demarce breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
