Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Braydon Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Zerkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reese kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Stranglehold. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Braydon Reese! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marvin Zerkle! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zerkle closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Reese content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Reese blocks the elbow strike.
Zerkle creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Zerkle is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Reese is defending well for now. A battle for position here, against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Zerkle fails to land. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Zerkle is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Zerkle lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Braydon Reese has been cut. Zerkle tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Reese avoids it. Reese on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Reese misses with the head strike.
Come on Zerkle - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Zerkle working some nice short punches in the clinch. Zerkle doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zerkle lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Zerkle misses with the head strike.
Reese is pushing Zerkle up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Zerkle blocking some punches.
Zerkle lands a nice elbow. Zerkle lands a right hand. Zerkle trying to land knees to the body.
Zerkle lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Reese's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Reese tries to stall but Zerkle uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Zerkle tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Reese's elbow. Zerkle misses with a hook to the ribs.
Zerkle lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Zerkle lands a shoulder strike. Reese tries a body shot but Zerkle blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zerkle can't find room to land a body shot as Reese controls the action.
Reese taking a breather. Reese avoids a wild elbow strike from Zerkle. Zerkle throws a head punch that misses. Zerkle working aggressively here.
Zerkle working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A battle for position here, against the cage. Reese wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Zerkle as Reese tries to tie him up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Zerkle misses with a hook to the ribs.
Zerkle blocks an uppercut.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Zerkle lands an elbow just above Reese 's eye. Zerkle is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Reese is defending well for now. Reese is trying to stall.
Reese can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight. Zerkle tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Reese's elbow. Zerkle lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Reese slows down the pace here.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Braydon Reese. Zerkle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Reese swings away with a body shot that misses
and Zerkle counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Knees in the clinch landing for Zerkle.
Reese stalling in the clinch but Zerkle improves position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zerkle turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Reese is looking for a sweep. Zerkle misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Check out the look on Zerkle's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Zerkle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reese is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Zerkle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Zerkle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Reese is trying to control Zerkle's posture but Zerkle avoids it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zerkle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reese is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Zerkle grinds an elbow into Reese's temple. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marvin Zerkle dominated that round. The cut man is working on Braydon Reese's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Reese swings for the body but Zerkle moves out of range.
Zerkle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Reese misses with a wild body shot. Reese misses the shot to the body. Zerkle is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Marvin Zerkle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Zerkle is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Zerkle slips under a jab from Reese. Reese missing with a left hand there. Zerkle was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Zerkle with a poor takedown and Reese counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Zerkle! Reese thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Zerkle is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Reese's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reese is working for a submission of some sort.
Reese is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zerkle defends it well. Zerkle is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reese has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Reese trying to control but Zerkle is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zerkle prevents Reese from taking his back. Zerkle keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Reese working for a guillotine from mount but Zerkle is in no mood to give up. Zerkle tries to lock up and control but Reese gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zerkle is desperately trying to improve his position but Reese has a good base and remains in mount. Reese is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zerkle can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Reese moves to the back position. Zerkle defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Reese is cranking Zerkle's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Zerkle! He's tightened the choke and Zerkle is tapping out!
