Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bernard Cornwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Gannicus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Gannicus will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bernard Cornwell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Gannicus! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gannicus lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A looping hook to the body misses from Cornwell. Gannicus does a little dance to reset his feet. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gannicus, right into the meat.
Cornwell throws a lazy head kick and Gannicus counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cornwell won't be happy with that. Cornwell is trying to get back to his feet. Gannicus thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Cornwell can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gannicus misses with the ground and pound. Cornwell is looking for a sweep. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Still in half guard, Cornwell seems content to control. Gannicus is looking for a sweep. Cornwell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cornwell with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bernard Cornwell. A nice inside leg kick there by Gannicus. That's going to slow Cornwell down. Cornwell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A chopping leg kick lands by Gannicus. Bernard Cornwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cornwell takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nice body kick there by Gannicus. Cornwell shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gannicus napping and manages to drive through into side control! Cornwell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cornwell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gannicus is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gannicus throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gannicus is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cornwell is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gannicus will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Gannicus dodges the ground and pound from Cornwell. Cornwell is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Cornwell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gannicus for as long as he can get away with. Cornwell working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Cornwell working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gannicus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cornwell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Cornwell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Gannicus is looking to reverse the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cornwell controls the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cornwell working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. A lull in the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jab by Gannicus. Cornwell drives through with a takedown into guard. Gannicus controls Cornwell momentarily but Cornwell frees himself. Cornwell controlling from the top position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Cornwell is pushing down on Gannicus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gannicus is fighting to maintain full guard but Cornwell has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cornwell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cornwell trying to mount his opponent but Gannicus defends it. Cornwell works his foot free and advances to mount. Cornwell controlling from the full mount. Cornwell misses with a head shot. Cornwell is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gannicus can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cornwell controlling the position easily from mount. Gannicus tries to hold on but Cornwell postures up. Cornwell controlling the position easily from mount. Gannicus is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gannicus is desperately trying to improve his position but Cornwell has a good base and remains in mount. Cornwell controlling the position easily from mount. Gannicus is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cornwell looking for a guillotine from mount but Gannicus is having none of it. Cornwell controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cornwell putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gannicus is trying to reverse the position but instead Cornwell has taken his back - oops! Cornwell has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Gannicus is defending well but eventually Cornwell manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Gannicus has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
